As the defending champion of The Barclays, Steve Stricker was quizzed Wednesday on a number of subjects in the media center, including the putter.
So is Stricker a one-putter guy?
“I am,” Stricks told the scribblers. “I’ve had the same type of putter my entire career.”
And what is the name of his lifelong putter sweetheart?
“It’s all been pretty much an Odyssey,” he said. “But I had a black face and now I have a white face, but it’s the same design.”
And how long has this relationship lasted?
“I’ve putted with the same one for probably the last four or five years,” Steve said. “I may change the grip on there every once in awhile, but that’s about as bizarre as I get.”
Whoa. Don’t get too wild, Stricks.
The first leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, The Barclays gets underway Thursday at Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, New Jersey.

I absolutely love Steve Stricker and can't wait till he gets the call the Ryder Cup. I'm positive he can bring that extra something to the team that will help lock up this year's victory for the US
Is there a nicer guy on tour than Stricks?
Tom Lehman blew it in 2006 when he bypassed Stricker, who was arguably playing better then than he is now. His driving has lacked consistency, but he is always good with his irons, short game, and putter. A Ryder Cup captain's pick is not and should not be a lifetime achievement award. Azinger will pick the best 4 guys, and Stricker has to be one of them finally!
