Stacy does not have to worry about Michelle, Michelle is just hype, although Michelle would run circles around me, tour wise shes overrated for now (Tom) Michelle might have a good year 09. We will see.

Stacy is a good player in her own right but does not have the immense talent of Wie.

Wie - when a little more mature will come good - mark my words.

Call me shallow, but I'm looking forward to Anna Rawson getting some air time this season.

Oh, and big ups to Gary Woodland and Aaron Watkins, a couple of Kansans, becoming the newest members of the PGA Tour.

Like it or not -and like her or not - Michelle Wie is a star, just as John Daly is a star on the PGA tour. It doesn't matter whether or not they have game (Daly certainly has nothing), it only matters that they show up and the crowds will follow. She will draw the paying public through the gates and in the long run that's really what it's all about. I'm glad she got it together long enough to make it through Q School.

"tour wise shes overrated for now (Tom)"

LOL! Were you referring to me? I've got no argument with that statement, especially the "for now" part, but I think she has the potential to be great LPGA player. If she could ever pry her parents away from her professional affairs, that is. I think with all the things she's had to go through, earning her LPGA tour card is a solid base to build her confidence around.

I certainly think she has the talent to have more success on the LPGA tour than Harrison Frazar has to have success on the PGA tour. She has all the physical tools to dominate, but I'm not sure she has the mental toughness to do it.

And again...her parents have to get out of the way, so there's a lot going against her on that front.

yes Tom sorry dear that was for you, im glad we agree today. I do want to see how Michelle perform. But Lancer, that is a bad mix of personalities you put on the board. Michelle and Daly, please!!! Daly has the history, problems, and years of fan that have followed him through thick and thin, money he has won and lost, personality on the course that the fans want to see, Daly is the average player to some (wait Tom) and people can relate to him. Michelle has nothing compared to Daly as far and crowd attendance, people only hang around her to see if she will win on day and they will be able to say 'i was there' for goodness sakes shes just getting out of school, and what player can relate to her. People follow her because she very attractive and the media want to keep the camera on the pretty ones. See how you use the term 'star' that media hype terms. Look at Laura Davis how many times do you see the cameras following her, Where are the star terms with Lorena Ochoa, Grace Park or Se Ri Pak, im picking Laura because people relate to her like they relate to Daly, Laura is a great player to me (wait Tom) but she does not fit the media's profile. Sure Michelle is a great player but she haven't got the scars of the true player to say that she has followers, fans yes. You only said that because you like her, did you? I will bite my words the day she win on the tour.

I want you to know that my previous comments were not intended to be a put down or insulting in any way towards you. I could be wrong, but your comments read as though you may have taken them that way.

Have a good one.

no Tom, im just messing with you. I feel that you were bitting your lips as you read that comment.

Actually I was looking to see what you had to say about the players I mentioned. Lancer mentioned Daly and I think this year Daly will be put under the glass.

Well, in the Harrison Frazar thread, I mentioned John Daly is in the news for all the wrong reasons, and Frazar is in the news for all the right ones, and that if you'd said Daly needed to "get serious", I would've known exactly what you're talking about.

As far as Laura Davies is concerned, I think she's one major from being in the Hall of Fame (yep--I checked--either that or 2 regular tour victories will put her in), if I'm not mistaken, so I think she used to be a great player. I don't think she's in the limelight as much because she's never in contention anymore. When she was in contention most of the time, she was paid attention to, and rightfully so.

I disagree that people relate to Davies like they do John Daly. I don't think their personalities are the same. However, Laura has always been in the news for the right reasons. I hope Daly "wakes up and smells the coffee", so to speak.

I'm not sure where you're coming from with Se Ri Pak or Lorena Ochoa, they're always talked about in "star" terms. Se Ri Pak is in the World Golf Hall of Fame and going to the LPGA Hall of Fame, and Lorena Ochoa is always in contention and/or winning, so I think the media gives them their due.

Grace Park hasn't been a contender for a while. I think she was a great player, and still can be, but lately, she's just not been performing, and I think that's mostly due to injuries. I hope she gets back into form soon.
