Event Notes

Kicking Off a New Season – The Frys.com Open serves as the official start of the 2013-14 PGA TOUR season. This week is the first of six official events to be contested in the 2013 calendar year as a part of the wraparound season.

Headlining the Field: Davis Love III, Billy Horschel, Charles Howell III, Ryan Moore, Vijay Singh, Hideki Matsuyama, John Huh, Robert Garrigus, Ben Crane, Jonas Blixt and Trevor Immelman.

Nick Faldo Makes Champions Tour Debut – Nick Faldo will make his first-ever appearance in a Champions Tour event staged in the United States. Since turning 50 in 2007, Faldo has twice played the Senior British Open (2007, 2009), but never a domestic event on the Champions Tour circuit.

Headlining the Field: Bernhard Langer, Nick Faldo, Colin Montgomerie, Kenny Perry, Mark Calcavecchia, Corey Pavin, Mark O’Meara and Mark Wiebe.

Event Notes

Elite Field – The field features just 72 players, which means there will be no cut after 36 holes. This is the second of five events on the Asia Swing for the LPGA Tour.

East to West – The LPGA Tour will take over the East Course at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club this week, while the West Course will host the PGA TOUR in two weeks for the CIMB Classic.

Headlining the Field: Inbee Park, Stacy Lewis, Michelle Wie, Lexi Thompson, Paula Creamer, Suzann Pettersen, Yani Tseng, Morgan Pressel, Ai Miyazato, Na Yeon Choi, I.K. Kim and Jessia Korda.
