Today our weekly newspaper, Mountain Xpress, has a story about the matter:

http://www.mountainx.com/news/2009/121609tiger_by_the_tailJonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03000043657719635755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17206449.post-82666439543514382632009-12-15T11:49:48.731-05:002009-12-15T11:49:48.731-05:00I think the marriage is done, so I am rooting for ...I think the marriage is done, so I am rooting for Elin, Sam, and Charlie. May she somehow have the strength to make the best of this tragedy. I'm old school like Neil, so I've never rooted for Woods, and I also believe that golf, the game, is too awesome to be ruined by golf, the business.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17634709264969884186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17206449.post-89636832213954508802009-12-14T00:44:12.673-05:002009-12-14T00:44:12.673-05:00Great post Neil. I must admit I've been watching all the recent "non-golf" coverage of Tiger quite closely...pretty much in shock because I've idolized him growing up.
However, golf for me is much more than Tiger Woods. I love the game. The game is enough for me!Pure Golf Journeyhttp://puregolfjourney.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17206449.post-73197420037505864972009-12-13T09:38:27.476-05:002009-12-13T09:38:27.476-05:00Well said.

See, what I've thinking is, and I'm not being judgmental on Tiger, is that he will probably have lost a good deal of respect from his peers. Some may think he has acted stupidly, some will be disgusted with his behavior but many of them will no longer respect him quite in the same way as they did - what affect will that have on the back nine on Sunday when they are in with a chance and Tiger's two or three behind.
I also expect we'll see Tiger at Augusta - or quite soon.Dave @ Mud Ball Golf Bloghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18080168293297618685noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17206449.post-66272527653262485262009-12-12T23:14:34.301-05:002009-12-12T23:14:34.301-05:00Sigh.Sigh.Average Golferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09046762898552584292noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17206449.post-70836619317685344512009-12-12T16:55:07.200-05:002009-12-12T16:55:07.200-05:00Very well said Neil.
