In no other sport will you be able to find such a great range of emotions being played out by a single character. The golfer wins the wars by taking on 18 mini battles on a golf course and each of those form a segment of a story.

Loved the bit where he talks about Dan Jenkins walking into the press hut and saying Nicklaus cannot win the Masters. When someone as experienced as Dan Jenkins, who has so many years of golf following under his belt can be proved wrong it just furthers the point that golf is a game of glorious uncertainties.

Nice little anecdote about Lee Trevino from the 1970 British Open. We have heard so many lines from the great man that has brought a smile on our face and yet this one too sounds like a gem. I completely agree with what Lancer has to say. Don’t think I am aware of any other golfer with greater wit and timing when it comes to cracking those incredible lines.Andy Brown of HomeofGolf.TVhttp://www.homeofgolf.tvnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17206449.post-73150288525919810222009-04-28T19:32:00.000-04:002009-04-28T19:32:00.000-04:00Great post...obviously a great writer and nobody c...Great post...obviously a great writer and nobody can ever beat Trevino with a timely quip.Lancernoreply@blogger.com
