I know they were not happy about an American winning their amateur championship but it doesn't look like there is a direct correlation between Travis using it in the 1904 tournament and the 1910 ban. I...I have a very old hickory shafted mallet putter. It is weighted with brass and lead. At the base of the shaft, the word 'Travis' is embossed on the club.
